Acute gut GVHD can cause symptoms of diarrhoea, abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea and loss of appetitie.
Chronic gut GVHD can cause
- chronic diarrhoea
- difficulty swallowing
- sore dry mouth
- infections/cold sores
- pain and irritation from spicy/acidic foods
- loss of appetite and weight loss
- stomach cramps
There are various treatments available depending on which symptoms you have but you can help yourself by:
- keeping your fluid intake up
- telling your clinical team if you are having problems.
